We started by looking into the major DBaaS cloud hosts and could certainly have gone directly with AWS, GCP or Azure (among others), but all of these required an "expert" to spec, price and implement correctly - and were, frankly, overkill for getting us out of the gate. ScaleGrid was (and is) dramatically different: they have a limited offering -- a few different DBMS's and a standard set of server / instance specs to choose from when getting started.

In short -- with a credit card, I was able to select a PostgreSQL configuration and place my order within about 5 minutes.

[...]with about 10 or 15 minutes setup, I had a fully functional PostgreSQL 12.x server up and running, with 300GB capacity, no hidden traffic fees, and total costs just a couple of hundred dollars a month.

Scalegrid's utility to create a new mongodb cluster using your own cloud (AWS in our case) was quite easy to follow. Most of the steps in the creation of the cluster are taken care of by ScaleGrid. Where manual intervention is needed, instructions are clear and precise.

Overall experience for PocketWise has been quite positive! We will definitely be recommended it to other companies looking to switch their DBaas providers.

Easy to setup no issues yet

Setup a production Mongo database in less than a few hours. I had a few questions for the support team and they were quick to respond.

We made the switch from Compose to ScaleGrid, we have no complaints so far. Staffs are knowledgeable and friendly, I would recommend ScaleGrid solution to anyone who's trying to move away from Compose.

Software delivers what I need, and the support is prompt and professional. The service runs very stable, and whenever there was an issue or I needed support, I was promptly given it.

There is nothing I don't like about the product. I can only recommend it and we are absolutely happy with all aspects of the service.

We are hosting both Redis and Mongo clusters using ScaleGrid and I couldn't be happier with their service. It literally took me less than 1 hour to setup our Production instances and I even managed to do it without any sort of documentation. The user interface is incredibly intuitive and simple to use.

I couldn't imagine having to do this manually. It has saved us countless hours of work and it will continue to do so in the future. Managing our clusters day to day is so easy, I really can't believe it. I have nothing bad to say about ScaleGrid. My only complaint is that I wish I knew about it sooner!

We are in the process of launching a bootstrapped startup so time and money is tight. We chose to go with ScaleGrid for several reasons, but I would say the biggest draw is the ease of use while minimizing the chance of human configuration error of our mission critical production clusters. It is really a godsend.
